The singer and songwriter Carrie Newcomer has a song called "You Can

Do This Hard Thing." One line of the lyrics is "Morning will come whistling

some comforting tune, for you." For today's devotion time, I share this

song. I hope it brings you comfort.

Let us pray:

We give you thanks, O God, for artists, musicians, poets, writers...those

who create something we need to hear or see. Thank you for being the

One who has, throughout time, told us that we can do hard things. Thank

you for the stories that remind us of those who have: Hagar, Ruth, Moses,

Mary...Jesus... Thank you for the new life that appears every day to see us

through. Amen.
