Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm (just two verses!), but it makes big claims about who God is (worthy of praise, steadfast in love, faithful forever), and about who we are in relationship to God:

1 Praise the Lord, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples! 2 For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!

These are very challenging days, and we may find ourselves questioning God's steadfast love and faithfulness to us. Yet somehow, waking up each morning, there is hope: that love and faithfulness are present, are winning, are enduring. This morning, I'm grateful for the words of Psalm 117, calling me back to God when I need so desperately to hear that testimony.

May the words of Psalm 117 bring you hope at the start of this new day.
